Biography
Katie Charlebois is an Associate Attorney based in Washington, D.C. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from West Virginia University and her Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law. Her legal background is deeply rooted in human rights, with a specific focus on its intersections with immigration, the environment, and peacebuilding.
During her time in law school, Katie developed strong advocacy and conflict-resolution skills. Through the Lawyering Peace Program, she led a team of Research Associates and contributed to the drafting of a peace negotiation handbook for the civilian delegation in Sudan. As a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Honor Society, she competed in domestic and international competitions centered on mediation and arbitration. Additionally, Katie served as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Human Rights Brief, where she wrote and edited legal analyses addressing U.S. immigration policy and international protection.
Katie is committed to using the law to protect individuals and communities. She brings a thoughtful, client-centered approach to her work and is dedicated to advocating for immigrants with diligence, empathy, and care.
