Biography
Kathya E. Orozco Medina is an immigration attorney based in San Francisco, California. Originally from Jalisco, Mexico, Kathya immigrated to the United States at the age of 17 and settled in the rural communities of Mendocino County. Experiencing firsthand the challenges of navigating a new immigration system, culture, and language during her formative years shaped her deep understanding of the obstacles immigrant communities face. These experiences inspired her lifelong commitment to providing legal advocacy grounded in dignity, equity, and access to justice.
Kathya earned her degree from the University of California, Berkeley, where she cultivated her interest in public interest law and explored the intersection of immigrant rights, community health, and environmental justice. Her personal background as an immigrant and her strong ties to both rural and urban California continue to inform and enrich her legal practice.
Today, as an attorney at an immigration law firm, Kathya is dedicated to helping individuals and families achieve safety, stability, and opportunity in the United States. She approaches every case with a holistic perspective on the systemic legal, social, and environmental challenges that shape immigrant lives.
