Maleeha Haq
graduated from the Univ. of Mich. Law School in 2007.
During law school she participated in the Advanced Clinical Law Program by working with asylees, interned at the ACLU, and spent a summer at an immigration law firm. She also volunteered for Freedom House, an institute dedicated to working for asylum-seekers in Detroit, Michigan. In addition, she volunteered at the Washtenaw County Public Defender's Office and served as the Managing Editor of the Michigan Journal of Race and Law.
After graduation, Maleeha served as a fellow in Refugee and Asylum Law with Human Rights Watch (HRW) in Washington, DC. She then went to Cairo, Egypt to work with Africa & Middle East Refugee Assistance (AMERA), representing asylum-seekers throughout their refugee status determination process at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Maleeha graduated with high honors from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2003 with a B.A. in Economics. She is fluent in Urdu and conversant in Punjabi.
