Len Vinas graduated from San Francisco State University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. While on SF State’s school publication, Xpress Magazine, he served as a staff writer and associate editor. In the journalism program, he won two awards for a magazine story on an Oakland based crime cleaning service and found a niche for in-depth reporting. His favorite journalist is Gay Talese. He has freelanced and interned at several Bay Area magazines. In the future, he hopes to attend graduate school at UC Berkeley to continue his studies in journalism. In his spare time, he likes to read, attend baseball games, and spend time with family and friends.
