Lisa Paine graduated cum laude from the University of San Francisco School of Law in May 2007. In law school, she had an internship as a certified law clerk in the felony unit of the San Francisco Public Defender's Office. Lisa also volunteered her time working with the California Appellate Project on appeals for death row inmates in California. She continued her work with death row inmates by spending the summer after her second year of law school at the Capital Habeas Unit of the Federal Public Defender in Little Rock, Arkansas. While in Little Rock, Lisa worked gathering mitigation evidence on her client's behalf and interviewed jury members looking for jury misconduct or bias. Lisa's public interest and volunteer endeavors during law school earned her both a Certificate in Public Interest Law and the Pro Bono Publico Gold Award. Besides her public interest work, Lisa was a member of the USF Law Review and the Faculty Appointments Committee. Lisa obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona where she was on the Dean's List. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Lisa also enjoys photography and travelling as much as possible.
