Sarah Castello holds a Bachelor of Arts in European history and English literature from the University of Kansas. She received a J.D. at Golden Gate University School of Law where she was a merit scholar and a member of the dean’s list. During her last two years of law school, Sarah gained extensive practical experience in immigration law and upon graduating, she began her own immigration law practice in the East Bay. She is a member of the California State Bar and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

Sarah’s interest in immigration arose while studying challenges to the formation of a common European identity in the wake of the cold war and the rise of the EU. She traveled to Poland, where she helped develop an educational program for Eastern European children designed to foster the recognition of common cultural ties and tolerance. Her final undergraduate thesis concerned the role of the Polish labor union Solidarity in the demise of communist party in Poland. During law school Sarah studied immigration law, EU law and participated in GGU’s mock trial and clinical programs. She currently lives in San Francisco, where she enjoys reading good books and exploring the California outdoors.
